Joined the Discord server at 12-07-2022 and started my journey online I believe the day before that.
10.34 Days played on the server
I am 24 years old.
What are some examples of your leadership and/or teamwork experiences :
I have actually been more of a follower for the most part of my life. Being the youngest of 3, many things were done for me and didn't really made my own choices. But in some situations i had valuable input.
I finished my kooking degree and when I worked as a chef I have made multiple changes the presentation of dishes and excelled at decorating deserts. But later on in my life i didn't wanted to work in those late hours anymore.
So I chose a different branch of work and I am thinking about different kind of work all the time but I haven't found out what i want to do permanently yet.
For online examples we have the B E A T I F U L L game League of Legends (i know, some people hate it, i hate it too). I play with friends regurally still and play the Support role mainly lately.
In earlier years of my LOL carreer i was always a Mid-lane player, but that changed, because in the support role i dont have to worry about farm, and can focus mainly on vision and shotcalling for the team.
Also, i like to be as annoying as possible to enemy players (play-wise, not chat-wise) by harassing them with all kinds of shenanigans.
What do you excel at :
game-wise, building. In real life, keeping my head cool and accessing problems from a tactical point of view. I understand people (if they're logical and give arguments) and listen to problems they might present,
and try to give honest feedback. I understand that no one is perfect and people make mistakes and i am definetly no acception to that rule. I also try to always have a positive vibe, aswell in-game as in real life,
making sure that my guests or fellow players are having a good time.
How familliar are you with the Lord of the Rings mod :
I would say I am pretty familiar with the mod. I have played it for a long time while sometimes taking a few years break in between. But i always find myself coming back to the mod.
I love the Lord of the rings and have done so since i was a child. Sadly im not the reading type of guy so i haven't read the books yet. (but I intent to soon! tm)
But in the many years that I have played in this beautifull world I must say that I have always chosen the ''good'' factions. So a pretty big gap of information is missing in my brain as regards to evil factions.
(but i do have curseforge modpack, so recipies can easily be searched. Also i have googled information about certain things for other people too)
What is an example of personal growth you have done recently :
I always have been the quiet kid in the room. But i am trying to be more social. Because if i dont talk to people or do something that requires a lot of attention, I start to think about life to much.
In the few months i haven't been on TOR was the time that it didn't go very well with me. My room was an absolute mess, i didn't know what i wanted to do with my life and thought about siriously harming myself.
Then my brother kinda picked me up, yelled at me a couple of times, cried a little bit like a little baby and started speaking some sence into me.
Right now I know it is still there but I am making good progress in leaving it behind and taking responsibility for my future instead of letting other people make my descisions for me.
I am finally becoming my own man, but I still have a lot to learn.
What is your role in the community currently :
I am the stoner-meme-builder guy that (sometimes) likes to show off. I like to have a fun chat with people. Sometimes it is personal and sometimes it is TOR related, depends on the situation.
the last time you found yourself in a disagreement with another player, how did you approach it :
The last time I was in disagreement was with the staff's descision not to place me in the top 3 with the christmas building event.
I said on another discord server with players from TOR, that it was RIGGED. while in fact i was stoopid.
Flyingfish pointed out that it was a tribal theme, while i made a City in Dale-theme (with a dragon, you should check it out).
I removed my statement but i was still salty about it for a day ( or 2). In doing so my rage that i had against the jury, turned onto myself.
And i know i haven't told you guys my full side of the story yet. So here it is. Sorry for lashing out judgement before having all the information.
Naturally, not everything is perfect on TOR; what do you think needs improvement :
I am not really a technical guy so i can't help you on that part and i dont think i see any glaring issues with how staff is currently handling things.
1 thing i do have to mention though (and i will also come back to this later), is that lately there hasn't been alot of staff online. I see it often that there is no staff online whenever i do !tor or whenever i am playing.
I guess this has something to do with staff meetings or personal life that gets in the way or maybe even another issue that I'm not aware of.
I also read the rules but haven't really thought about improvements that could be made.
Lastly, what motivates you to continue playing and to apply to the staff team :
THOSE ARE 2 QUESTIONS IN 1!
I LOVE the Lord of the Rings and always will and probably will play Minecraft for the forseeable future because I love building a place for myself IN that world.
I also love the playerbase that TOR has created and can get along with pretty much everyone.
- I have a few reasons to apply for staff. the first one is to help other players out. Like I said I felt like there hasn't been a lot of staff online lately when i am online.
I would like to fill that gap so other players can have a better experience on TOR and have more access to help. I already help people with questions often.
I don't know if this is true, but I speculate more people might come online when there is a staff member online. I already have seen people come online, say: ''dammit, no staff online'' and then leave.
And i think that's a petty, because people need fly to build their amazing structures and i would like to see what they come up with. I just love architecture.
To sum it up. I just love this server and this community and would like to provide the services that were once given to me. So that players can have more fun and being able to build their creations that they had invisioned.
While there are certain benefits to being staff, i don't care about those because im perfectly fine without them.
Sincerely yours,
Redanor
